Lostmediawiki opinions
In lostmediawiki for quite some time and it has been a bit of a letdown: they are far too obsessed in finding lost video clips, unreleased demos and crappy pokemon and spongebob things and they basically don't give a s**t about lost asian videogames (aka the majority of medias I'm looking for)

Please help me! Check HERE for my requests / most wanted titles!

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
Well, can't really blame them, films/clips/this kind of media has always been their main point of interest. I've used to be active on the wiki earlier (around 2013-2014), when they were still hosted on Wikia, wrote a few articles which were probably lost (good thing, they were terrible), and there was very little content about video games back then - lost films, documentaries and series episodes media were and still are the big thing.

Guess it started when the P2P site with the lost Video and Audio medias close down ... apoca something , it was a nice site with many VHS Masters , in Quality better then DVD from movies and TV shows that where not converted to Digital by normal companies

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
When I could've anon-posted there I've provided some trivia infos regarding Hong Kong 97. Even though its focus on games isn't as high, the site itself is still a valuable info-hub IMO, and it always brings me a smile or two whenever I find something of interest

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
I'm a disappointed about the whole LMW thing, They have a well-organized community but they only focus on finding things that are not really interesting (Like dubs from TV series, old commercials, TV series for childrens, or deleted YouTube videos) Of course there have been some good exceptions (Like those Osamu Sato lost audiovideo works). Its sad to see how little importance that community give to old obscure and lost videogames.
Months ago I read on the LMW webpage about the existence of an old JP Fan game released in early 00s. (which is supposed to be lost), It took me a week to contact the dev`s and get a lot of information about that game, one of the dev even said that he was going to do his best to get a copy of that game for me as soon he had free time (I still have contact with him).
So basically, if the LMW Community had more interests in finding lost games then, they would ... so old spongebob commercials are more interesting i guess. haha

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
Single evening spent compiling this list on what LMW failed in noticing for certain PC titles:
Arnold Palmer Tournament Golf -
to exoscoriae
College Terra Story - I made a Chatango account for the sole purpose of leading them to Nemo838; this was figured on their own way after removing Chatango from their site
Dan Burry -
to Ozymandias
Dinosaur Detective Agency -
to Dimouse
GhostBlood - Another title I've found and noted @ Chatango, but nope (it'll be a cold day in hell before you see me with an actual Discord account, let alone a two-step one)
Golf's Best: St. Andrews - The Home of Golf -
to exoscoriae
NightStuD - failing to note that it's not a Level Demo but a Trial Demo (full shareware), as in just needing a keygen ('cause HWID lulz)
Peter Box - nothing on RhymeKidder's efforts, I see
Putty Squad - pure negligence on their side; the DOS build can easily be found online now, here's a mirror
to exoscoriae
Well these titles (and the Wiki's sort of incompetence) ought to be noticed now me thinks (even LW and Old-Games.RU did this cataloguing part better
)

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
Since their wiki pages for games are waaaaay outdated compared to movie/tv part, and I HATE updating the wiki pages (it's boring, my mother language is NOT english and the Wiki fanatics are usually grammar nazis, last thing I'm not good with coding). I tried to sign in to their proboards forum in order to share the knowledge (about purevex and nba powerdunkers at least) but my account is on moderation wait for days. No more luck with the Discord section because it seems to be empty in 2023.
It's absurd how many users from this forum commented the purevex wiki page and they still don't believe it's found. The only pc game they cared about afaik is the spongebob one... huge facepalm

Re: Lostmediawiki opinions
At this point I think it's feasible to accept that lost media wiki doesn't care about lost pc games unless they're about a popular franchise for kids or something that's just for memes.
