TRAINZ was a 2001 computer program that let you do on the computer what so many upstanding, mentally-stable people did in their basement (no, not that!) for hours on end - Play with model trains and build intricate miniature landscapes for them to roam across. And, for the past 15 years, that program has been improved and upgraded many, many times.

However, now you can witness what all of the hype (and we all remember the hype, don't we?) was about by downloading the original TRAINZ game for absolutely free. As in beer. All that you need to do is register on their site and download it. Who knows how long this will last (maybe forever, maybe only until tomorrow...).

So if you've ever wanted to experience the thrilling, care-free life of a train engineer or the Construction Kit on that Elder Scrolls game has finally bored you to tears, your winter holiday has arrived early this year... Unless that winter holiday has already come and gone... Which means that this is extremely early for your next year's winter holiday. Or maybe you have more than one winter holiday and the first or some of them have already happened but not the others.

A 2016 side scroller, prog.1 has you playing a computer virus where everything you touch quickly dissolves. As a result, your actions must be fast, definitive, and (of course) successful if you are to survive in your environments. Normally $5 dollars, this game is "free as in beer" until December 31, 2016. The game comes available in Windows, Mac & Linux varieties.
