The only virus for the amiga I can find is the old one, from 1988, not the one I was after........
I do get the point that not all the games I used are not FPS (doom clones), but its a point that can be debated, depending on how you define a FPS. For me, it is First Person, and you shoot things, for others it has to be corridor based, and with a gun pointing out the screen.
In terms of the History of FPS games, the modern games combine together many elements, think arma or battlefield, tribes 2. Elements that were taken from games that do not fit into the 'doom clone' format. If you get what I mean?
Ultima is classed as a RPG 3D, but it was this game that inspired Carmac to create a faster engine, resulting in Hover Tank, and Catacombe. Space Rogue, although a first person space sim, was an early build of the engine that would become Ultima. For similar reasons some games can be added to a 'History' of FPS games.
Through out their development FPS games never had strict defined boundaries, and many 3D games are similar enough to warrant inclusion.
Lunicus and Virus the Game help plz........

Ok, thanx, i will give it a try. I have been trying to run the game through win 3.1 within dos box, I havnt managed to get win 3.1 to install on virtual pc yet. And it is the CD check thats preventing me from running it, although it will install, just not run. I have burnt a disk and used that in my usual drive, but that didnt work either. In the end I might have to resort to getting one of my old systems up and running, or buy a working old computer, trouble is how to capture a video, i think that snagit and fraps wouldnt work at all on anything less than a pentium with xp?

Sorry for the duff adviceThe only virus for the amiga I can find is the old one, from 1988, not the one I was after........

Most people refer to the game you are after as either V2000 or Virus 2000
I was never interested in the games you mentioned, but I see what you are sayingIn terms of the History of FPS games, the modern games combine together many elements, think arma or battlefield, tribes 2. Elements that were taken from games that do not fit into the 'doom clone' format. If you get what I mean?
The rest is common knowledge for a FPS fan

Can't remember if you included these in your videos . .

Oddly enough, there's Virus, V2000, AND Virus: The Game, the latter one of which is referenced in the topic title.Doomed_Space_Marine wrote: Most people refer to the game you are after as either V2000 or Virus 2000

To make mounting work more effectively in DOSBox make sure you use the -t switch with the mount command.Balg()rG wrote:And it is the CD check thats preventing me from running it
And if it still doesn't work you should try the -label switch in case the game is checking the CD label.
-t cdrom -label LUNICUS
Or whatever the label should actually be.
