Recent Game Purchases

Post by Steve »

I know that other boards sometimes have a thread for people showing off their latest game purchases. I didn't see one on this board and thought that I would start one to see if there's any interest. So, without further ado...

Rise of Nations. $1.99 from thrift store. Box was slightly damaged but, other then that (and one other minor detail described later), everything else looked fine. Funny aside: Manual inside the box was actually from expansion "Thrones and Patriots" but I didn't initially realize it until after purchase. :o

Oh well, you get what you pay for sometimes. :)

Bought 'Rochard' from the developers for $19.99 because I like the game, wanted to play it again, and wanted to support them.

Moved topic to "General Topics" subforum.

The last game I bought was Borderlands 2. Recently I didn't buy any games though.

I know I bought a little indie game from Spain, but I can't recall the title. Probably got Legends of Yore before that.

EDIT: Unepic was the game I bought.

Next will probably be Starbound & Cube World (working title).

Recent Round-Up

TITAN QUEST GOLD - $3.99 (DVD Box w/ slipcover, nothing missing). I was a little stunned to see this game and at that price. If this needs a serial # then I'm bummed because I didn't initially see one before purchase but, otherwise, everything looked great with it. UPDATE - Yup, I found them. They were on the bottom of the back of their respective instruction manuals. Thanks goes out to Shattered for the confirmation.

FABLE: THE LOST CHAPTERS - $3.99 (DVD Box w/ slipcover, nothing missing). Another "Really? OK, I'll take it." A bit less enthusiastic about this title then TITAN QUEST but it had everything with it, everything looked like it was in good condition & the price was right. Not the biggest fan of the pseudo-Anime art style but I'll give any RPG a try.

JEDI KNIGHT: MYSTERIES OF THE SITH - $1.99 (Jewel Case only, no instructions). I loved Jedi Knight 1 (who can forget escaping from the falling spaceship level) but have never seen the expansion in a box in the wild. I already had a jewel case of this one but the price was right. Maybe it was a sign from the Gaming Gods to dig out my Win98 machine and give this a whirl (anyone know if Jedi Knight can be played in Win7 without performing a sacrifice or some other silly, overcomplicated ritual?).

Titan Quest and its expansion both need serials for the installation.

Fable: The Lost Chapters is actually quite a fun action-rpg. Not that I would think about playing it more than once, but I had a great time with it.

Latest game I bought was "Ushuaïa le jeu" (DVD box, 14.99€ = ~19.5 USD). Lara Croft without guns, in a completely empty world, where you have to carry two useless companions in order to save animals in the savannah or something like that.
I bought it because the game was on the most wanted list; Now that it's uploaded, I think It'd better stay online, because I'm not going to open that evil box again

Just before that, I bought the Stronghold Collection (DVD box, 19.99€ = ~26 USD). I usually don't like strategy titles, but I was seduced my the first game and decided to get all the other ones (except Stronghold III, which was released after the compilation).

COMMAND & CONQUER: GENERALS - $2.00 (Small box, nothing missing). I know that I have this somewhere as a title in a compilation but I never owned the stand-alone box until now. I wasn't losing sleep not having the stand-alone box but the price was right.

Rayman Origins (2012) - 9.99€ (= ~13,01 USD)
"Ubisoft Exclusive" version, DVD in a box.

Blazing Angels 2: Secret Missions of WWII (2007) - 4.99€ (= ~6.5 USD)
DVD in box.

Marie-Antoinette et les disciples de Loki (2011) - 29.99€ (= ~39,06 USD)
Despite de high price, it's a very "poor" release: no printed manual, only a CD in a box. Good point it's a hypbrid PC/MAC disc.

Fallout: New Vegas - Ultimate Edition

I bought it at a store that sells leftovers from bankrupt companies. The game was still sealed but without a price tag. The person working there was very kind as I got it for only EUR 2.50.

Lucky me :)
