yesterday i deleted VISTA from my machine and reinstalled XP PRO......
but a well known problem appeared when i came to the WINDOWS XP install step....... ( 39 minutes left )
( GET A LOOK HERE TO KNOW FROM WHAT I SPEAK )
http://www.x-setup.net/forum/archive/in ... t-520.html
the PC wanted a File or Files called "ASMS" in the "I386" folder.....
so first i was scared cause i didnt had any free CDR to burn the I386 folder manually via copy and paste and then burning....from the second PC with INET connection........
so i started to get angry and afraid lol
tried it several times with the USB stick i copied the folder on the USB stick and tried again but no chance the stick wasnt detected !
so ok.. i thought fukk this shlt and at this point i was pretty angry !
( i said to myself " DAMN YOU KNEW IT DAMN U fukkin knew it.....NEVER change a RUNNING SYSTEM ) but now i was were i was and there was no way back
then something weird happenend.......removed the folder that was shown
in the window ( the path to the I386 folder ) it looked like this........
"I:/I386"
I: = my DVD DRIVE
lol then i was bored and just typed the same thing in the box manually
( i typed in I:/I386 manually like mentioned above.....pressed ENTER and
VOILA IT WORKED ! i couldnt believe it but it worked.......install process was getting further ( has stopped at the 39 minute mark )
MIRCOSOFT also knows about this problem and they released a patch FIX for it but just for the UPGRADE version.......
well im beginning to believe that im the only person who knows how to solve that problem until now
its that easy while others unconnect their CD DVD DRIVES etc.........
burn the folder and and and........
