New Graphic Card cant decide.......

Post by hurenBock »

hi

im about to get a new graphic card cause i can sell my old one for a real good price my old x1950 PRO

but i cant pick one out of these 3 - 4 :

GFORCE 7900 GTS.....150 EURO
GFORCE 8800 GT......170 EURO
ATI HD 3870.....170 EURO
GFORCE 9600 GT.....180 EURO

all cards r the editions with 512 RAM
and PCI-E slot 1.0 and 2.0 compatible

btw how can i get out what type of PCI-E slot i have ?

well first i said that i never buy an ATI CARD again but the 3870 is pretty fast i think

anyways i tendend to an 9600 GT or 8800 GT
which card would you buy if you could choose one ?
and why ?

ànd plz dont tell me any alternatives than these 4 cards.......

i have an DUAL CORE @ 1.8 GHZ but will get an 2.66 or 3.0 GHZ DUAL CORE next 2-4 months

i have an 3870 by Sapphire. perfect product, good quality, and long-lasting.
but, to be honest, buying a leadtek 8800 GT for the same price will give about 20 percent more framerate, tho i am not sure whether this product is quality in terms of e.g. longevity.

L M A O!

I bought myself a GeForce 8800GT, 1024MB RAM. That thing SUCKS!

I'll NEVER buy NVidia again, I'll be going to ATi on my next purchase. Why? The darnGeForce 8 Series and later can't even mirror full-screen video properly on Windows-based OSes. It sucks! :D

by yourself a good TV and watch there. It's so stupid to watch movies on PC - the quality sucks.

Why do you think those cards have a TVOUT?

sure, because DVD players have some magic piece of internal hardware which makes bad-looking movies into highquality video experiences. of course.... -.-
and sure, when i want to watch movies from my 2 terabytes of harddrive space, i always burn them to CD or DVD first to be able to watch them using my DVD player. afterwards the optical media goes straight to the trash can.

and this my friends is my absolutely _sane_ procedure of watching movies. after all, it is all about the quality. because that DVI cable which goes from video card to TV set cannot provide good quality. or can it? ...

:x :x :x

late disclaimer: this is sarcasm, if you don't like it, don't touch it.

i made my decision

i will go for a HD 3850 / or 70
cause its smaller cooler and doesnt need that much power like a 8800GT
lol not that i made my decision cause the card needs less power
...........anyways.....would be nice if you could help me to decide

also from sapphire......
but i have one problem...... well idk if its a problem cause maybe
the cards are compatible downwards

i dont know what PCIE slot i have 1.0 or 2.0 ?

does it matter when the card has PCIE 2 and i put it in a slot that just supports v 1 ?
