Lightning Volta Sojiro (Jérémy M.) 2005

This is a vertical shoot-em up made up of 6 (+1) Missions. The sprites used are rips of already existing sprites (commercial games or not) from: Dimahoo (Arcade), Hellsinker (Freeware), Radio Zonde (Freeware), Striker 1945 (Arcade), Espgaluda (PS2), Psyvariar 2 (Dreamcast) plus music remixes of Castlevania and Donkey Kong. You lead Raizer, a fallen angel chosen by god to repel an invasion of enemies with elusive abilities. Raizer can switch between 2 types of Fire at any time: a) Shot 1 (Crisis) is a Force 2 frontal shot; b) Shot 2 (Awks) is a double eccentric shot of Force 1. To these two attacks is added a more powerful capacity (Volta) making it possible to more easily eliminate a large number of adversaries. The gauge at the bottom left of the screen gives the current status of the current Volta. But how do you go about filling this gauge? In fact, you have to kill enemies while taking maximum risk. When Raizer grazes an Enemy Shot, he becomes stronger for a reduced duration and can thus strengthen the power of the two main Shots (we go to Force 4 (Crisis) and Force 2 (Awks)). If an enemy is killed by "Reinforced" Fire, the gauge will fill up one notch. The Volta is a powerful attack which therefore requires a great mastery of the game to be able to be used often. Note 1: When Raizer reincarnates, he grows stronger for a period of time. This makes it possible to quickly raise the Volta gauge. Note 2: Finishing an Enemy with an "Reinforced" Fire also allows you to gain DOUBLE points that you will have brought this enemy in normal time (except for Bosses). Why is my gauge changing Colors? Each enemy is associated with a Color: RED, BLUE or GREEN. The gauge will take the Color of that of the last enemy completed by an "Reinforced" Shot. This makes it possible to obtain Volta attacks of three types, each one associated with a color. Why is Raizer going through the Shots? Unlike previous versions, this time I reduced the dimensions of the Collision mask associated with the hero. Only the central part of Raizer is therefore vulnerable, and it only extends over a few pixels (which is not a luxury given the difficulty of the game). This change makes the Gameplay richer and less unsettling for most players. What is the difference between the main difficulty modes? The main course will be shortened if you do not choose to play Hard. On the other hand, the number of lives will be more important if one chooses lower difficulty levels. A good strategy is therefore to first analyze the main difficulties of the first levels, to then cross them more easily in Hard.
