Topic issue resolved: for all these years there was confusion, both 1.2 and 1.2a patch fix the same issues, they're only differed by the DirectX versions the patches are dedicated for, while 1.2 is intended for 8.1, the other 1.2 is for 8.0a (thus seemingly being dubbed by the community as 1.2a). This page elaborates that ( translate 'cause Dansk), while this one contains those patches, both fully downloadable, and both having a NoCD @ GCW, so no worries there Sorry for the goose chase ppl
