Here is an interesting issue to work on! Atlantis-the lost tales DOS version. Using DOSBox the introduction of the game runs fine. But when the menue screen appears (load game, start new game etc.) everything seems to freeze. The mouse doesn't move at all and there is nothing possible to do, but just quit DOSBox with the ctrl-alt-del keys.
I tried the autolock mouse option and to change the mouse sensibility settings to a higher number without success.
Also the Dynamic core option and several cycles settings (20.000+, 30.000+) didn't help too.
I thought that it could be a Vesa driver problem (like Jack Orlando) but once again i had no success.
In the DOSBox official site and forum is mentionend that this must be a mouse issue. Anybody have an idea what could be wrong?
Thanks!

So guys i managed to find a solution, which makes the game at least "playable".
You need the patch file for the DOS version, otherwise the game and the mouse will keep freezing in the options menu, no matter what you do to avoid this problem. I apply for everybody here the patch for the english, german and french version of the game.
Follow these steps:
1) Install the game
2)Apply patch file in the installed game folder
3) Set: Core: Dynamic, Cycles:30.000+, mouse sensitivity 300+ and enable autolock mouse option.
4) Start the game using the applied patch exe file, which you applied in the installed game folder.
P.S.If someone finds a better configuration than the one described above just post it here, to let everybody know. I will try also too. But the most important is the patch. Without it there is nothing you can do to get the game working.
So here it is (english, german, french version of the game):

I played this very nice game in XP using this setup: http://home.earthlink.net/~infernofilec ... _Setup.htm
A lot of work and I still needed the savegame when changing to CD2, but well worth the effort.
Of course it will run fine under VPC+Win98 too
BTW This XP-setup didn't work for my original Dutch version of the game, but it did just fine with my not-so-legal English version....
