8800gt seems to fail a lot on older games for me

yes, and I liked my Radeon better for its backwards compatibility

I have an AGP mobo too - stupid me two years ago decided to get socket 939 motherboard with AGP support, cause at that moment I had Radeon 9500. I thought about buying 7950GT too.
