Gauntlet II is very similar to its predecessor. Up to four players (a wizard, a warrior, an elf, and a valkyrie) make their way through various mazes, collect treasures and magic potions, and fend off assorted creatures and ghosts. Thor, Thyra, Questor, and Merlin thunder into your home - the continuing adventures of your favorite characters direct from the arcade megahit. Challenge and danger await as you fight for survival in the Dark Dungeons - with over 100 new maze layouts to explore. Collect valuable treasures while doing battle with ghosts, grunts, demons, sorcerers - all faithfully replicated from the arcade game. State-of-the-art programming makes it worthy of its arcade billing. This is the Gauntlet that you won't want to lay down. It features: technical wizardry that delivers all the action, sound, and colorful animation of the Gauntlet arcade games; devilishly difficult mazes; sorcerous secret rooms; a magic potion of traps, monster generators, transporters, force fields, and villains; and spellbinding graphics excitement! There are new health-draining force fields and new monsters such as sorcerers, blobs of acid, and a black monster that homes in on you and saps your health. The levels also start changing randomly after level 5. Less important is the ability to choose what colour you want your character to be, and if you're playing with a friend, it's now possible for both of you to choose the same character. |
