Broken Dimensions Team Twisted / DADIU 2011

This is a free, Portal-esque 3rd person physics puzzle horror game, created by a group of students from the Danish Academy of Digital Interactive Entertainment (known in Denmark as DADIU), and using the Unity graphics engine. The game stars a baby boy with gravity-manipulating magical powers, wearing a chicken suit. Seriously. When young Theodor stumbles into a brooding black pyramid on Halloween, he finds himself trapped in twisted passages where up is down and left is right, but the only way out is through. A major dynamic of the game is the ability to levitate and rotate the room around you on a stable axis of four possible directions, as many times as you’d like. The physics in the game are (usually) intuitive, so if you turn a room upside down, all the objects previously on the floor now fall to the new floor from the “ceiling,” etc. The game consists of several levels of puzzles involving this mechanic of temporarily manipulating gravity’s direction, with increasing amounts of deadly spikes and other potential traps.
