This free platformer was made for the GameMaker Community jam. The theme was pirates, so the game is about undead pirates guarding treasure that they stole while living, and also maybe guarding something else. It's a game about sneaking by or fighting pirates and avoiding their traps. Each of the levels are procedurally generated, which is both where the game really shines. Sometimes the enemies are placed in spots that really makes them a pain, verging on impossible to surpass. The biggest inspirations are the original Prince of Persia, Dark Souls and Spelunky. This particular heroine cannot jump. She can duck, roll, climb stairs, grab keys and kill things with her sword but never jump, yet still she's determined to liberate all the treasure those undead pirates are guarding in the depths of their underground lair. It comes packed with tense reflex-testing moments and tactical decisions to make. |
