Domestic Violence: Game Over [Cz] Centauri Production 2003

The violence hidden behind the front doors is unfortunately a very frequent and generally tolerated phenomenon. And that's exactly why this game project came into existence. It's a part of the information campaign (supported by The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs) directed against domestic violence in Czech Republic. The game tries to simulate some aspects of the co-existence of a young man and woman. At the start, the player gains control over a character, male or female, of his choice. He defines the character's traits and specifies his/her appearance. He does the same when choosing the partner. Time to go to bed... And then it all starts. I guess you know it yourselves... Furnish the household? There isn't enough money to do that. Well, maybe we could afford a carpet. Go to the cinema? Who wants to, who doesn't? We'll both do our own thing, then. Oh no, it's back to work again. Well, if you don't want to, I'll not force you to? Or will I? That's up to the player... You can see the success of your efforts when you look at the characters' satisfaction. This is stated in a chart on the right side of the screen. On the left side there's another chart which tells you how your relationship is stable and satisfactory. The best player is the one who manages to play the longest time.
