Wheel of Fortune: 2nd Edition Artech Digital Entertainment, Ltd. / Hasbro Interactive, Inc. 2000

This features 2,500 puzzles to solve including those with standard phrases, clues (with bonus answers weighing in at $3000) and themes (for example, topics revolving around certain decades). Before winning fantasy goodies, you choose from various options including Normal, Solo Game and Tournament modes. Played with three human or computer opponents, Normal mode incorporates timed gameplay and a series of rounds. While games are generally 20 minutes long, you have the option of selecting time limits and winners are determined based on money earned. The player with the most money at the end of the final round moves on to the bonus round which features a final puzzle and the chance of winning one of five fabulous prizes. Aside from the bonus round, there are Jackpot and Speed-Up rounds as well. Having the wheel stop on the Jackpot wedge during this round significantly increases total earnings if the puzzle is solved at that point. During the round, the jackpot amount increases each time the wheel stops on a dollar amount. Because time is running out, the Speed-Up round features a final spin from Vanna White. Whatever dollar amount landed on is what contestants earn per correct letter. When a player guesses a correct letter, he or she will have the option of solving the puzzle. If they can't, the next contestant is given a chance to guess a letter. While the Solo Game is reminiscent of the Normal mode, you'll compete against one thing - your highest score. There are no human or computer-controlled opponents in this mode. Instead, you receive 11 free spins and after choosing an incorrect letter or landing on a wheel hazard (bankrupt and lose a turn), a free spin is used. After the free spins have been depleted, the game ceases. Finally, the Tournament mode consists of three human opponents with rules pertaining to Normal mode. In order to compete in the prestigious tournament, you must either win five games or earn $50,000. It features bonus goodies including a Behind the Scenes mode, career statistics and hidden interviews with co-host Vanna White; the interviews are unlocked by doing well in actual games. With sample contestant exams, backstage video sequences and various rooms, Behind the Scenes is for the Wheel of Fortune enthusiast. Career statistics include number of games won and lost, total earnings, best and worst categories and the number of tournament games won.
