Children can learn, grow, and play with their best friends from Sesame Street. This helps kids with fundamental skills critical for every toddler's development. Your child can play with Big Bird, Elmo, and Cookie Monster, and enjoy 25 activities created by child-education experts. Kids can sing along to nine different songs and develop 11 skills. The software can even be personalized so Big Bird says your child's name. Sister program to Sesame Street Preschool Learning Basics, this CD is similarly designed. The Sesame Street gang hosts five activity areas, and within each area are several activities that generally become more difficult as the child plays. There are letter and number activities, shape games, a limited art area and a "People in Your Neighborhood" area where kids can watch full screen videos of a doctor, a farmer, a barber and so on. In general, this is a likable program, especially with its fantastic license and its terrific graphics and animation. The depth of content is a strength (several of the activities branch on and on), but the characters talk too much and overuse praise, and there's no way to click through all this unnecessary commentary. We also want to caution that this is a program that requires some basic mouse skills. Children need to be able to point and click, a challenge for many toddlers. One very nice feature is the program's ability to say your child's name-- Big Bird will greet and congratulate the child by name. |
