Originally released as Caribbean! in Feb/2015, this is a swashbuckling action-RPG using the Mount & Blade Warband engine, with help from Mount & Blade developer TaleWorlds Entertainment itself. However, despite being in Steam Early Access, the game was rushed out the door with many promised features left out. This is a more feature complete version of the game and retitled Blood & Gold: Caribbean! arriving on 10 December 2015, and is free to owners of the original Caribbean! game. This is a blend of economic strategy and open-world RPG, set in the pirate era of XVII Century Caribbean. Those who crave for battles in jungles, raids on rich cities and capturing enemy ships can choose the path of a pirate and a mercenary who will rise to the top, with the help of his own sword. Those who aren't afraid of the words 'financial planning' may take pleasure in making great deals and expanding their enterprise by choosing the path of a merchant and businessman. Power and wealth can be achieved whichever path you choose. Original features: naval battles with controllable ships and boarding fights; building and management of commercial property in towns; detailed crew and fleet management; rank progression system for military and business options; advanced order and control system for armies in land battles; mysterious and engaging storyline. The newly revised game adds: native Caribbean troops, a playable female character, the ability to take a walk in town, an all new 3D global map, a multiplayer mode, a blackjack minigame, quests from governors, and new special missions, including assassination contracts, some of which require stealth approach. It also features new special locations including plantations, mines, monasteries, and the ruins of Aztec empire, as well as management of the playe's trading caravans, and a hub for managing player's business and property. There's also completely reworked land battle locations, updated fleet management, destructible fortifications during sieges, and a completely new prison escape system.
