This game is based on the 1989 anime film of the same name. The action takes place in an East Asian setting, where the main character Mammal (머털) discovers in himself special powers and goes on a journey around the world. In terms of gameplay, it at first glance looks like a standard Asian RPG, but this is not entirely true. The battles take place right on the location in a pseudo-turn-based mode: each of the squad members (a total of four maximum) is given a command that requires filling the action strip to a certain limit, after which it will be executed. The main commands, in addition to the usual attack, are spells (there are both for attack and for treatment) or special techniques that spend mana. Opponents are diverse - centipedes, ostracized lights, sentient slime, evil spirits, folkloric creatures, and many others. Experience (경험치) is awarded for each action in battle, and gaining a new level automatically increases the maximum health (생 영력) and mana (다 법력), as well as increases the characteristics of strength (채 력), agility (민첩성), attack (공격력) and protection (방어력). In settlements and in locations, in general, you can not only communicate with NPCs, but also interact with the environment using the right mouse button: a coin (purchase and sale), a samurai helmet (statistics of party members), a book (menu), a scroll (casting a spell). The graphics are made in perspective with a top view and make a good impression: beautiful backgrounds, large animated character sprites, nice menu design. The music sounds good, with some ethnically sonorous compositions. |
