This is a parody on the glorious Monkey Island games... A pirate-wannabe Gaybush Nosehair must travel to the dangerous Donkey Island, to find a treasure and to face his enemy - the ghost-pirate LeDuck. The interface is pretty much the same like in first two Monkey Island games, and the graphics are also very similar. The development of "Tajemstvi Osliho ostrova" started after two students of the same high school - Jarek Kolar and Petr Vlcek first met. They worked on the game for fun and only in their free time. The programmer coded the whole game on a school's computer because he didn't have his own. After two years of development they contacted Petr Vochozka (the only one Czech publisher of games at those times) and signed a publishing deal with him. On June 20, 2000 (exactly 6 years after its first release) it was released as freeware. |
