From the makers of The Maw, comes this action platform video game and sequel to 2009's 'Splosion Man which only came out on XBox Live Arcade. In the celebration of 'Splosion Man's capture the scientists accidentally create Ms. Splosion Man. The gameplay draws most of its core elements from its predecessor, but adds new gameplay mechanics such as jump pads and riding on rails. For the first time in the series the character will escape the fictional Big Science facilities and venture out into the world. The character is made entirely of explosive material. The aim of the game is to "splode" through a series of levels consisting of puzzles, traps, and enemies to escape the facility. A splode is effectively a jump, and can also be used to kill enemies, such as scientists and robots, demolish walls, detonate explosive barrels or trigger other effects. Various new gameplay elements have been added - the protagonist can now ride along hanging rails to avoid hazards. Also new to the game are directional cannons that can project the character to wherever the player specifies. Puzzles will require both players to work together to solve them. Also new to the game is a co-op mode which allows one player to control both Ms. Splosion Man and Splosion Man at the same time in order to play the multiplayer campaign. The game will also feature overworld navigation between levels. The map helps to address the difficulty complaints from 'Splosion Man. More difficult levels are clearly marked to allow players who choose to to skip them. |
