Star Wars: Pit Droids Lucas Learning Ltd. 1999

Those lovable Pit Droids from Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace come to your computer in this 3D game which contains over 300 puzzles spread across eight levels of play in six unique environments. Protocol droid C-3PO guides you through a brief tour of the game before you get started and is available to provide help while you are in the "Puzzle Training" and "Puzzle Maker" areas. His sidekick R2-D2 can help you with the puzzles themselves and whenever you see his icon on the screen. Before you play, you'll need to choose your level of difficulty. In an easy game, you score one point for every Pit Droid that successfully completes its task, and you have an unlimited number to work with. In a medium skill game, you get 480 droids, each worth two points; the puzzles are also a little harder. In a difficult game, start with 240 Pit Droids with each worth five points; these puzzles are the toughest mind-benders in the galaxy. Your goal in each game is to escort the Pit Droids, which always travel in groups of 48, from the transport ship to the Podracing arena. Along the way they'll have to navigate places like Watto's shop, Hutt Flats, Mos Espa and the arena hangar. In each location lies a puzzle which you play until all 48 droids are in their appropriate places, at which time you get to watch a short animated movie as a reward. Those droids move on to the next location, and you need at least 144 of them once you reach the hangar. Scores are based on the difficulty level of the game, the number of Pit Droids that you successfully directed toward their goals, and the location of the puzzle. A high score screen displays the ten highest point totals ever earned in the game. You can save your progress at any time if you need to quit the game. If you want to download new puzzles or trade puzzles you've created with friends, you can do so at the official Star Wars: Pit Droids web site.
