hey, im totally new to this site and i know this is probably a stupid question, but once you download all the files for a game...how do you play it?

What game and how do you mean play it - Download - rename files (if need be) decompress , run setup and play in most cases

im trying to download Heretic and i wanted to play it on my computer

If you haven't already, snag WinRAR.

Then once that's all installed, attempt to extract the Heretic files using WinRAR.

Obviously since you're using Windows XP (It's very predictable to know EVERY NEWBIE uses this p-OS) you're gonna need a newer engine for it. Zdoom works great with Heretic.

Extract 98.cab in the Heretic folder, and RUN zdoom.exe
