Yeah, it will be free...looks amazing and all done by fans with a love for the King's Quest series. 
It was nearly forced to shut down by Sierra some months ago (after already being worked on for years) but a petition from fans allowed them to continuue though it will be known now as The Silver Lining...so King's Quest 9 references will be removed I think.
