What's in Return to Castle Wolfenstein Extended Edition?

Post by level1900 »

I was thinking about downloading this.

What does the Extended Edition have more than the regular one? Are there new levels and enemies or just some new multiplayer maps?

Cheers :D

RTCW: Extended Edition is the alternate title for RTCW: Platinum Edition.

Here is what I wrote in the NFO:
Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Extended Edition includes:

- Return To Castle Wolfenstein
- Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory
- Wolfenstein 3D
- ET Level Tools
- WolfRadiant Level Tools
- Game documentation and manual

Return To Castle Wolfenstein in this Extended Edition has the lastest patches
integrated and Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory is updated to v2.56.

Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Extended Edition is the alternate European title
for Return To Castle Wolfenstein: Platinum Edition.
Main differences:

- Latest patches are integrated.
- Bundled with Enemy Territory, which is a free game.

There is no need to download this release if you already have the initial game.

I had the original release of RTCW, it used to run fine on my old PC (W98) but never worked on any of my 2 current PC (XPSP3 & Vista), the patch didn't work either.
Now, I downloaded this extended edition (I wasn't expecting much) and "voila", the game runs perfectly now! I think it's worth the download, thanks a lot Shattered
