SecuROM 7.40.xx Victory

Was anybody able to play with the mounted image of some latest SR 7.40.xxx protected game? Like Resident Evil 5 or Venetica? I read VCD 9 and Alcohol 52 do the trick. I've ordered RE 5 and gonna buy Venetica so I need to know some personal experience (if there's any). I hope you still buy games.

Virtual CD 10 (the latest v1.0.7) isn't blacklisted, not yet at least. I'm playing Wolfenstein 1.2 now, it has SR 7.40 and works only with VCD, A120 and DT are blacklisted. RE 5 should work too.

Virtual CD v10 --> working on both v7.40.xx and v7.41.xx
Alcohol 120% --> not working on v7.40.xx, working on v7.41.xx

Some versions of SecuROM just don't work with Alcohol 120% or DT, or you need specific versions of those programs. An example of this is Crysis + updates, where you need an older version of DT for it to run. Virtual CD works just fine.

Any gameplay improvements BTW like better perfomance or re-balance, some new stuff may be? Coz I've read this patch actually fixes nothing.

I'm gonna uninstall Alcohol perhaps. It's becoming useless these days...

No idea, I've only played with v1.30. I didn't have problems with the game (single player).

Neither had I but the perfomance wasn't too good for me. What hardware do you have?
