Crysis 2...*sigh* I'm very disappointed in you...

What a disappointment. I was hoping for a huge expansion of the gameplay from the previous series, and all I got was a pretty, but fairly simplistic console shooter. Gone is the need for tactics, replaced by running, gunning and hitting the next check point. Grrr!

Bah-ah-ah! What a suprise! Never expect a decent PC version these days.
The game is abysmal indeed. Very dated visuals [no DX 11 support too], poor sound, CHECKPOINTS and NO graphics options at all, only 3 lousy presets! Nice. It looks like a very low budget port made in a few weeks. Should stayed an Xbox360 exclusive. Crysis 3 anyone? Even extremely poor Lost Planet 2 is an awesome stuff compared to this junk. What a waste... And Black Ops is a true masterpiece.

You know... it's like somebody played Crysis, on the PC and said to themselves, "This is a pretty cool game, but it's just too complex for the console systems. What can I do make it just as simple as possible?"

Come on Otiscrusher. You used to talk smack about Crysis, but even you have to admit that the first game was a masterpiece compared to this crud.

I haven't even played it ( no, not even the beta of it I posted ), but even to me it looked like it was gonna be crap.

I've been playing FPS since the days of Wolfenstein and in the past few years it's been going backwards. Bent over to take it in the rear for simplistic gameplay for the masses. It's sad, but inevitable.

Otiscrusher and I don't agree on much, but this we do ( I think ).

I get the distinct feeling that what I'm playing is really more of a demonstration of the new Crytec 3 graphics engine rather than something supposed to be original or earthshaking. It feels like every other new FPS I've played in the past couple of years. Heck, Singularity was more impresssive than what I've seen so far...

Of course, it had some choice back then, some piece of so called "freedom". But not here, no. Just another COD game for 7 years old kids. Very pathetic piece of work. I regret even bothering touching this nonsense at all.
And the graphics... shameful. Even on the max quality it can't be nearly compared to Metro 2033. That game has PERFECT shadows [~4000 pix] and awesome textures. But Crysis 2 sucks in all ways. Low resolution [256 pix I guess] shadows [worse then in Mass Effect 2], poor textures and models aren't cool too. And the voice casting is just beyond any redemption to me. The whole "plot" is crap. It makes no sense whatsoever. "They called me Prophet. Remember me." Sorry, dude, forgot you 10 mins later.
And especially I "enjoyed" the crosshairs. Had to turn them off no to be distracted further. Gladly it was a short torture.

This game's got good assets, but yeah, its a console game. I'd like to port it to Crysis 1. Too bad I can't because Sandbox 3 from the beta is bsod'ing on my computer.
