Just read that some cracked exes, keygens get flagged as virus also. >_>>>


Is there a way to test this MS AV? 2013 is last version for XP so that seems outdated. If I scramble the (offending?) API calls in my dll, maybe it'll pass the test. Which is what I'd like to try with uncensor mod files.


edit:
Earlier crackfix nocd that got flagged only has a few byte changes in the exe itself. Dll was unchanged. I can't proxy dll the mod because that method doesn't work on win98.

There must be nothing I can do then with future patches, mods. If MS AV flags it as bad, then it can't be on LW main page. Maybe just on the forums for a short time.

Sorry about this. That's modern life.

Someone looked over my source code and made some suggestions to avoid resembling other known AV trojans, cracks, viruses. Editing decapitation mod and will temporary host on anonfiles later as a test.

Thank you for these wonderful patches. They work awesome but I found few problems. There are few attacks after which dying sand monsters do not decompose but become invisible and only then die. This glitch happens in two cases: 1) when you hold right mouse button expecting the attack and repel it with left mouse button, cutting the enemy 2) when you run up the wall and press the left mouse button. The prince lands and cuts the enemy and it becomes invisible. Is it possible to fix this glitch. Finally, thank you so much for the uncensored mod. I expected something like this for a long time.

Which game version, exe, patch are you using? You can also try the US nocd and see if those same problems happen.

I didn't know you can kill sand monsters those 2 ways so I have to check this also. o_O

Thanks for your answer) I checked these attacks with all your patches and decided to say you about this problem.The same situation is with NOCD. The game version is European.

Tested wall attack with US and EU-CE versions. I can split vertically the guy and he does the normal sand evaporation death.

Block attack I have to figure out how this works. But I'm not experiencing this invisible glitch. Anyone else?

You hit the monster and it fell and died, right? Block attack works like in Assassin's creed. What about this?

Wall attack - sometimes monster falls down whole and decompose sand death. Sometimes the blade chops him in half and decompose sand death. Sometimes Prince misses the guy completely and battle goes on. No invisible deaths ever though.

Block attack - I'll have to try this again later. Doesn't seem to work on Archers (The Bowery) so have to load another area for quick testing.

I cannot believe how amazingly hard it was to find that decap censor switch. I can understand why it wasn't found for quite a long time.

Try the Fortress. Block attack - holding right button, immediately press left button after the monster hits you and Prince will perform the attack.

The new uncensor mod doesn't get blocked by MS Security Essentials now, but Chrome browser does give warning page that it's a malicious file, but at least i can choose to ignore the warning and recover the malicious file onto hdd now.

Thank you for checking MSE again. Chrome says it's malicious.. another tool I don't use. Maybe it knows I replaced binkw32? I guess I could leave it alone for now - not so sure I can get around Chrome's detection. I do have 1 other idea atm though. ^^

That block attack is still hard. Works best when I deflect hit and move pad sideways + attack. Then I get more hits in.

Uncracked US game - monster explodes into a ball of sand (quick disappear death)
Uncracked EMEA-CE game - monster falls over to side and evaporates


Using decap mod:

US game
- blood on = monster quickly explodes
- blood off = monster falls over (like normal censored decap animation)

EU game
- blood on = monster quickly explodes
- blood off = monster falls over (like normal censored decap animation)


I'm not seeing anything that looks wrong. Sorry.

When comparing the CD and DVD version, I noticed that only ARTWORKS\VIDEOS and CINE differ in filesize.

Checking this out even further shows me that in those folders, files on the DVD seem to be twice the size of the ones on the CD. My guess is that it's better quality (checked the movies, they appear to be identical in both releases), except for some files in the ARTWORKS\VIDEOS folder.

Here lies the real difference: the unloackable 'artworks' throughout the game seem to differ between both releases. Startling discovery is that the file VIDEO06.BIK on the CD version contains a profile of several enemies, worth about 4MB. On the DVD, this file uses a whoppin' 687MB, and doesn't display an enemy profile, but instead shows a documentary about the history of the Prince of Persia series.

Compared US CD, SOT Trilogy and GOG.


CINE
- US = Lower bitrates (603899), bitframe size (20150), 3 audio tracks
- SOTT, GOG = Higher bitrates (673571), bitframe size (22474), 5 audio tracks

ARTWORKS/VIDEOS (02-05 = different game trailers for all trilogy)
- US = VIDEO01.bik, VIDEO02.bik, VIDEO03.bik, VIDEO04.bik, VIDEO05.BIK, VIDEO06.BIK
- SOTT + GOG = VIDEO01.bik, VIDEO06.BIK

SOTT + GOG = looks identical except
- GOG has modified date 11/14/2005
- SOTT has modified date 11/16/2005


tl;dr
InsaneFury DVD has some different videos than above versions. No sign of documentary video.

Nice infos on the documentaries. An off-topic note: I think Warrior Within also had a documentary on the DVD version only (which was WW only BTW). Which reminds me of a How It's Made segment on Sands of Time (gives me the chills whenever I remember that the people actually put Farah a ring on her "nether region" that holds her clothing )...
