help completing list of games based on classic engines

Post by cbowling816 »

I will just list what i have first based on wolf3d, doom, jedi engine, build, quake, and quake 2

I am doing this list cause it will help me in my attempt to personally preserve the beginning and evolution of the first person shooter genre, as after these engines, there wasnt an extreme amount of change in the basic mechanics of the FPS

Basically I want All Games based on these engines mods arent necessary, unless they were released in iso or cd format

also any full standalone game based on the engines, cd or download releases

Official mods are necessary (Abode of golgotha saga for Heretic II for example)
Pretty much every mod released on disk, and unreleased addons and games if they can be found
(like Fate, Corridor 8, and the two Shadow Warrior addons)

also I still need to get Shadowcaster (i have links) are there any other games for this engine?

Catacomb (working on getting series images)
Blake Stone (AOG, and Planet)
Corridor 7
Operation Body Count
Rise Of The Triad (and all addons from 3drealms site [GOODIES])

The ShadowCaster game engine, a successor of the Wolfenstein 3D and a predecessor of the Doom technology,[1] was written by id Software's John Carmack and licensed to Raven Software.[2] Carmack wrote the ShadowCaster 3D engine during his technology research after id completed Wolfenstein 3D.[2][3] The engine features diminished lighting, texture mapped floors and ceilings, walls with variable heights and sloped floors.[2] The engine was "about half as fast as that of Wolfenstein"[2] but fit the exploration of ShadowCaster rather than the fast paced action of Doom.
