ETC 2 - has 13 maps continuing from where ETC left off though not as spectacular in architecture as before. Perhaps the story is not as compelling as in some other SP mods but the levels are professionally done & a pleasure to play. |

Timeline 1-3 - Total Conversions |
---|
In Timeline 2:Iced Earth, after the events in the first one that the G-Man has sent you to a parallel Earth, one that's suffering through another Ice Age and some guys from Xen have shown up. You're sent to stop the Xen-creeps before they conquer your Earth when they're through with this one. There are great maps (high on impressive views), infuriatingly complex puzzles, and much more combat than in the first episode. There's a snow sled ride has got to be the ultimate capper to any map yet made. Also, you will be in a wild airplane ride, and shot into space as well among the 47 maps. Timeline 3:Heart Of Darkness has a great new 2-map hazard course, beautiful 56!! maps this time using hi-definition pack and you go from a hundred or so years in the past to insanely distant future dates. One fascinating segment was traveling in a certain Mr. Wells' time machine. There is varied combat difficulty, spectacular scenery and tough puzzles again. |

Todesangst 1 & 2 - Total Conversions |
---|
In the sequel, the scope of Todesangst 2: der echte Feind, in comparison to the original is much greater. While the original TC was essentially a map pack for Half-Life, T2DEF is a full-blown modification, including new weapons, enemies, music, customized voice acting, and a lot of new code that allows for some pretty neat tricks (such as mp3 support, fog, and some cool camera systems that you will get a chance to use). This time instead of making a map pack alone, Daryn "Peppyfool" Waite has both expanded his capabilities and added a supporting team to help build T2DEF into the full mod that it is. It's a lot of fun to play, and is certainly one of the very best Half-Life packs to come out recently. After a well-done opening sequence, you are treated to a fairly long game in T2DEF, full of well-designed maps. Architecture is solid throughout, and the overall pack is well laid out and flows very well as a whole (with the noted exception of the cutscenes). The mod itself is divided into three distinct episodes which lead you to varied locales with varied objectives, which are typically explained in the cutscenes. |

Xeno Project 1 & 2 - Total Conversions |
---|
In The Xeno Project 2, it picks up right where the original left off, and thrusts you right into the action. You've been detained on the government ship's brig, and once you break out, you're on your own again. The map starts off a bit slow, with the obligatory intro sequence and some mildly amusing scientist humor, but quickly gets into the combat. Most of your play time with this one will consist of your romp through the ship. Along the way, you'll face challenging gunfights, a few puzzles (though fairly minor) to spice things up, and some neat surprises. The cutscenes the break up the action throughout and the new dialogue adds shine to a unit that is already polished with some really nice visuals. |

Opposing Force Redux - Graphic Enhancement Pack |

They have replaced near over 400 sounds, and 50 models and showing progress towards more. Redux takes advantage of every feature in the Half Life engine. From transparencies, chrome effects and additive textures used in ways thought to be outdated. Along with crisp new sound effects, high quality models which polygon counts are hardly never below 1,000 keep the always proud Opposing Force looking its best. |

DeFRaG - Partial Conversion |

It includes a variety of features—timers and meters, ghost mode, cheat prevention and learning tools. Specially designed maps are provided that will rely on the player's movement abilities to be completed up to the finish line, while standard Q3A maps and Capture the Flag (CTF) fast captures are supported as well. Furthermore gamespace physics from both the original Q3A and the Challenge ProMode Arena (CPMA) mod are supported. There are no opponents to be vanquished during the run. Because of their design many of these maps cannot be completed by normal player skills; rather trickjumping skills are indispensable. Furthermore start-, checkpoints-, and stop-triggers are built into the maps. As a proof of the accomplishment the mod automatically records a demo of every map completed successfully. Along with the demo, the precise time in which the map was completed is stored. |

Niflheim Souls Feast - Total Conversion |
---|
This game is the sequel of the Niflheim 2D shooter developed by MISTIC Software (now known as DTI Software) in 2000. The story behind the original game put you in control of Hel, Mistress of the cold wastelands of Hell. This place was called the Niflheim, and Hel, tired of being a prisoner of her own realm, fought her way through all the layers of Hell in order to regain her freedom. They created something more sophisticated, to give justice to all the powerful characters and magical effects of the first version in a 3D world. It has both a single and multi player game. (Expert should be able to defeat the Super Lucifer of the single player). There is a souls capture game type, and 6 maps adapted for the Niflheim game play. It has music, and 8 demon classes with 10 different and original weapons to use. (Hey, that makes 80 weapons!) There is a new spawn option, allowing you to come back from the dead, and demon bots to fight with, including a nice combat AI. |

Thievery UT - Total Conversion |
---|
![]() |
It was released by Black Cat Games in 2001. Thievery uses the stealth gameplay and medieval/steampunk theme of Thief: The Dark Project and Thief II: The Metal Age but instead focuses on multiplayer. Not only do you get the opportunity to commit crimes and escape with loads of money, but you can also load yourself down with weaponry and stalk around like the medieval equivalent of the Doom marine. The matches all center on a target area, usually a single building (though a few levels, like "Flats", take place in and around the city, allowing you to hide on rooftops, down alleyways, and in the sewer systems). The guards start the match within the structure, while the thieves begin on the outskirts of it somewhere, giving the guards time to set up traps and ambush points. Rather like Counter-Strike, players are given a chance to buy weapons at the beginning of the map. The different weapons and accessories compliment a different array of play styles as well. For those of you who want to practice your skills, instant action is also available, and the bots are actually very good. |

Convergence - Fan-made expansion pack |
---|
Convergence takes place on SRIII, site of the wreckage of the U.S.S. Ulysses, a matter of months after the conclusion of The Fallen. The alleged purpose of the facility was to construct a weapon capable of being deployed for planetary defense. The source of power for this weapon system relates directly to the story of the Pah'Wraiths, and to the ancient Orbs that they fashioned. The weapon promised to be of immense power, and it could ostensibly be deployed to protect any civilization from attack...the Cardassians have other plans, however. There's in-game cinematics and some unique NPC characters, such as StarFLeet personnel. These will have unique identies and custom dialogue. The gameplay is very much action-oriented. Probably more than in the original. The missions do incorporate some minor puzzle elements, but not to the point of annoyance. Convergence is set in a desperate situation, with much at stake, and many violent forces vying for control of the "secrets" on SR-III. Experienced players of The Fallen will find the missions very challenging, especially the later ones. First-time players will have have a short time to hone their skills in the opening levels, but even these are not easy. |
