Gothic2/NOTR toggleaddon.bat virus

Post by Haunted75 »

i'm having trouble with Gothic 2/NOTR full demo. It's all unpacked and working 'cept that i can't switch form NOTR to the normal because my NOD32 says that toggleaddon.bat has "probably a variant of BAT/deltreey trojan" and quarantines the file. I Belive that there's no trojan because of my respect to a good community

I restored the .bat file from quarantine, turned off my antivirus so i could
test it, but it still didn't work (Can't quite remember what it said because i was so angry i deleted the file).

all i need right now is the normal (working) gothic2 because i'm not that hardcore RPGer as i'm a 3DShooter :P .

I hope someone can help me because i just wasted 2 hours on downloading and 5 hours on unpacking just to see that i can't get what i wanted :-x .
P.S. I'll waste another 5 hour tomorrow so i can test it again. Also sry for any mistakes in post.

It's probably a good idea to disable NOD32 before you run the game then ;)

it has no virus in it (i just made a bat file)

but if your antivirus blocked something during the toggling between versions it is bad : it probably messed up the gamefiles because they get shuffeled around when toggling
Look at you, Hacker. A pathetic creature of meat and bone.

How can you challenge a perfect, immortal machine?

My antivirus blocked it before toggling it blocked it while i was unpacking the game.
Anyway i got it working, i just unpacked the original.rar to the game folder and no more NOTR :) and if i want it then ill just unpack the game again.

the bat file prolly wants to deltree something. If you have WinXP, this prolly doesn't work. As deltree deletes files and folders, some virus scanners halt on it. :P
