Scary and me are with you! I am so sorry.....have to call my uncle in mission beach tomorrow...
how can such thing happen?!I dont understand that
.My uncle always told me stories about this most poisoned stone fishs..he never told me about stings
That scares me now...that realy does...i was playing in beach water without taking further percausions on this matter JeeeeZZZZZZ

This hit me hard.
The guy was such a lovable shlub and his personality was always upbeat and excited about animals which i also love.
Only 44 years old...too young. May he rest in peace and his wife and kids be strong. At least it wasn't some animal eating him.

It's rare that a sting will be fatal...supposedly it penetrated his chest so the poison might've paralyzed his heart.
I see divers stroking them all the time on tv documentaries so they can't be that dangerous.

The odds that A stingray will strike are remote - but what are the odds that the stinger hits the heart - at least he didn't suffer as it was instant death.
