Giants Citizarn Kabuto patch

Hello, ive downloaded from 3dsl this game including addons and the patch, ive followed the instructions in the myth.nfo file to install the patch but when i try to run it (in the game dir) it keeps telling me Giants its not installed, is there a way to fix this, cause i dont have a sound card and from what ive read about its that this patch fixes the prob of crashing, i can run it in safemode but its very annoying.

Usually patches check the Windows registry to see if a game is installed. Perhaps you missed executing a regsetup or .reg file?

Alternatively, the patch might need the original uncracked .exe file to work.

i excuted the reg file before trying to patch the game, maybe u are right about the original exe but if tath's the case where can i get the exe file?

if the reg file is not an exe (reg-FIX) but a simple .reg-file, you should try to edit the entries in regedit to point to the correct path before applying the patch...

I know what a reg file is, by executing i mean double-click on it and accept the entry, but if I have to tweak the registry with regedit i dont know what i have to do then to make Giants appear installed for applying the patch. Ill be clear, i dont understand the thing about pointing the path to apply the patch.

right-click the .reg-file and select "edit"...
there you can see what is inside.
now if there are path entries nullled like ".\\", edit them to the correct location (backslahes "\" MUST be doubled "\\" or it won't work),
e.g. "C:\\Games\\Giants....

or just look where they are entered (e.g. "HKLM\\Software\\Publisher\\Giants")
and look up this location in regedit.
easier, and no double-backslashed needed...

Hi! I got the same problem patching this game. I edited the registry properly, but it still won't work. Can somebody help me please?

P.S.: I tried to start the new game, but after the cut-scene when I make the first step the game just ejects to the desktop, so the patch would be sorely appreatiated.

I also had this problem.
Here's a patch

How to use :
- use the GPatch14.exe in the giants directory
- overwrite the patched exe, with the one from the archive
- for enhanced graphics, run the geforce3enhancments patch in the giants directory.

Akhem - that's exactly the problem... I CANNOT INSTALL THE UPDATE. It says: "Giants is not installed". Any other suggestions? Maybe you could upload the fixed(ripped) update? But you need to know exactly what files were replaced/patched during updating process...

The update contained in my archive, normally runs if you have used the supplied .reg file with the 3dsl rip (i used this on exactly the same rip)

There's still that patching problem, saying "Giants not installed" when executing the patch. Anybody please post the correct reg entries, please?
