Exhumed/Powerslave :no cd audio

i just got an old pentium 2 with soundblaster ands a lot of other stuff,already set up for games.i install Exhumed,the game is ok,the sound too,but the the cd audio tracks are not playing...i've tried it with dosbox(mounting the d:\ drive as -cdrom)and its ok...what it could be?

How much CD-drives do you have? You need to use the first one to hear CD-Audio.

only one cd drive.moreover,if i reboot in DOS mode,any game i try says that there's no soundcard,thoug the set=blaster is correctly inserted in autoexec.bat...

Most soundcards need a driver under DOS to work (which will be loaded from AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS during booting). Normally the soundcard comes with an installation disc for DOS.

About the CD Audio: Maybe your CD drive isn't connected to the soundcard. in older computers you had to use a special audio connector cable between these two components. Look in the manual for your CD drive and/or sound card for this.

just burn the image on cd.
