.sat to .mp3 decryption?

Post by Trey »

I've got my Mp3 player with me (Gigabeat f-10) but not my CDs, so I was thinking about burning some of the albums I've got on there to CD. Problem is, they're .sat encrypted. Transfering them using Gigabeats utility (Gigaroom) doesn't remove the encryption. I did a little research and found that you should be able to drop and drag when the players interface is set for 'Windows Media Player', and that should remove the encryption. So I bit the bullet and installed Windows Media Player 10 (which I didn't want to do), but it didn't work. When I drop and drag a file it still arrives with the .sat encryption.

I can't believe nobody's created a utility to strip the .sat encryption from these files yet. They've been around for years, and this is a pretty commen problem. If there is one I couldn't find it.

Anyone heard of a utility like this around?
