What's a good adventure and/or horror shooter?

Post by Trey »

***Doom 3 spoilers below*** (someone got mad at me before for not doing this...)

Doom 3 has worn me out. I can't believe how looong a game it is, I never expected that. I got tired of it, and just switched to 'god' mode at the end of the Hell level (think it was pretty much done). It just keeps going on, and on, and on, and on...

So, I've I want something different now. I'm already dling D&D-Pool Of Radiance (never played it...), that ought to kill some time (unless it sucks, which some reviews said it did). I know there are a lot of adventure-y, horror-y, Resident Evil-y shooters out there. Besides Resident Evil does anyone have any recommendations?

Ya, I recommend you to forget everything and play Mass Effect. To me, it's the best game ever made. Don't forget to buy hi-end PC, though...

Really? Wow, amazing. I thought here are only tough old-gamers who love old days and care not about what's going on around these days. Damn...

Yeah, 'The Thing' is very recommended. Its pretty scary and you have to communicate with your buddies otherwise they will go nuts.

More like being lazy... The thing that started to annoy me about Doom 3 was the 'cheats' they used constantly. Panels flying open behind you, spawning monsters infront and behind you at the same time, supplies you don't need that are just bait in a trap that will leave you worse off. The secret to getting through it became discovering where all these 'traps' are and where the monsters will spawn so that you'll be ready next time through, there wasn't really any strategy to it, it was just memorization. That got boring. At least in 'god' mode I could enjoy the scenary and not worry about the ambushes.

first part was nice but it lacked weapons , yeah you had some sticks of dynamite but it was kinda silly to fear dogs and run away from them , but yeah when you made a pyramid "of stuff" you could kill them with "gravity" :D shows the fun and pleasure you can have with the Penumbra engine , you can finish it in 2h , 3h top , Game has a eerie ending

part two was too short you just need 1h 30m to end it , yeah they finally gave you something to defend yourself but the game time was a letdown

but all in all its was a nice eerie trip , i wonder what will happen next in the upcoming part 3
