how can i figure out which MAX HZ count my monitor is capable of ?
ive seen something called EDID or similiar
but that doesnt really help

uh man i found the monitor on the street lol..... so i dont have a manual
and no exact model name or number at all... and nothings written on it just the company name and i googled that name but found nothing helpfull...
im not that dumb at all man... even if it seems so sometimes or always. lölölöl
however, lol, with HZ i mean
the refresh rate....
you know 60hz or / 60hz bug lol ), 85hz, 120hz, refresh rate override ? does something click ?

just try out higher rates than currently. if your monitor cannot display it, it will start flickering and you will not see anything anymore. but as you might remember, windows sets screen preferences back to previous setting if you don't confirm the new setting after 15 seconds. so waiting 15 seconds without doing anything will revert it...

I use a good "old" 19"-tube monitor. Tube monitors have the best picture quality, but are getting very seldom in sells.
In Win98/WinXP I do this:
- Right-click on desktop somewhere
- Menu->Properties...<click><click><...>
... Then somewhere you will find the graphic-card properties, where you can modify the monitor resolution and the frequency. Rise it until your (tube?)-monitor shows a strange message. Then you will know that this is too much for it. If you click nothing after 15 seconds the resolution is set to the last state by Windows.
