The Famous Five 3: Kidnapped how to choose English ?

Post by philthethrill »

Does anyone know how to set the language option for The Famous Five 3: Kidnapped from German to English? I installed the game and the setup was all in German. It didn't ask me if I wanted it in English. I started the game and went to the options menu, but I didn't see any options for switching the language. There was only the option of hearing the title song again, turning the shadows on or off, turning the filter on or off, adjusting the speech and music volume, and turning on or off the mouse text (if you hover the mouse over an object, it tells you what it is) and speech text. I looked at the DVD directory, but I didn't see any language options there. I looked at the lang.dat file and it mentions a Choose Setup Language option, but I never saw it.

By the way, if anyone is having trouble getting the game to work, you need to open the cue file and change the second line from Track 01 MODE1/2352 to Track 01 MODE2/2352. Meddle pointed this out to me when I had trouble with The Famous Five 2: The Silver Tower. Thanks Meddle! :)

You know I upload the .nfo's for a purpose. The .nfo for this game has instructions at the bottom for playing it in English. If you haven't grabbed the .nfo you should do so.

Thanks Meddle. I guess I didn't get the nfo because in the past I've tried to open nfos with the System Information Utility and it doesn't recognize them. I found out that I can open them with Notepad. Thanks again.

Or as recommended in the FAQ, just install this - http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/D ... -2132.html
to view nfos as they were meant to be. If you're into game collecting, it's a must. :)
