Just finished Mortyr 4... jealous?

Post by Trey »

Operation Thunderstorm (Mortyr 4)
It actually didn't suck. Normally I would expect more from a game than just not sucking, but this is a Mortyr game. Not sucking=A Winner.

Graphics were pretty good, controls weren't bad. The main problems were, first: it was very short, and second: there wasn't much of an ability to interact with the environment. For example there are doors all over the place, but only a few (mostly one you need) can actually be opened. Also you can't open any boxes, drawers, cabinets, windows, or pick objects up.

Well... sucking is relative. For a City Interactive game it didn't suck. The first mission is a boring typical WWII shooter mission, running through some french town, blasting the bad guys, but the other two were at least interesting.

Nope, 4. Battlestrike - Force Of Resistance (Mortyr 3), and Operation Tunderstorm (Mortyr 4)

You should be locked in a room forever with only a computer and a copy of Alcatraz - Prison Escape :P

There is only really two. The other ‘sequels’ are just cash-ins on the Mortyr name, and only have very limited superfluous connections to the original Mirage developed games.

Good question :)

According to Wikipedia the original Mortyr was (rather patriotically) heralded as somewhat of a masterpiece by the press in its homeland. Maybe City Interactive felt the same way, I don’t know . .
