always wanted to play monkey island 1&2 with those spiffy voice overs from the newer lucasarts games? well there is an ongoing project to do just that. but they are in need of voice actors and decent audio equipment, so stop by the Get Involved section to lend some help to this awesome endeavor.
Right now they are at about 40% done with a big chunk playable even now so if you want a taste of what they have been working with take a look there is a WIP download on the site with instructions on how to get it to work.

The Secret of Monkey Island Special Edition coming out on July 15th will feature full voiceovers, including Dominic Armato as Guybrush.

Isn't it kind of a remake anyway? Not sure about it but I seem to recall it's not just the original DOS game with voiceovers?!

Yup, screens and story are all similar but updated graphics.

"In this updated version, players can choose between Classic Mode or Special Edition Mode and even switch seamlessly between them while playing. The former will look like gamers fondly remember from the early '90s, while the latter will feature all-new artwork presented in 1080i resolution. Unlike the silent original, the new version will feature full voiceovers, including Dominic Armato as Guybrush, along with re-recorded and remastered music, a new game interface and a dynamic hint system."

yeah but i still think this project is a cool idea seeing as the second game probably won't receive the remake treatment.

When I got stuck in the game I had to phone a friend of mine... see how times have changed

I hope one day,someones add speech for Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade and Zak McKracken And The Alien Mindbenders

These are best adventure games for me.With speech they been wonderful pieces to my collection.

...the others are Heart Of China,Conquests Of Camelot,Codename Iceman and Colonel's Bequest.

These excellent stories are need speech or remake all.

i don't know if speech is compatible with those particular scumm engine versions and now that sierra is owned by activision it changes the whole remake scene
