Sorry, never actually heard anyone ask this question before.
At some point when you go to create an .ace compressed archive there will be an option to set the file size. Default size is just whatever the file(s) compress to. 1 file. If you set the file size to 5mb it will create a series of files a maximum of 5mb per file. For example, file.ace, file.c00, file.c01, etc...
I don't know how else to explain this. And I can't tell you exactly where in winace this option is because I haven't used winace in so long. Winrar is superior to winace, so I long ago switched to it. Just select the files you want to compress, and winace will provide you with the option to set a file size limit. If the file starts compressing before you set the limit, you missed it.
