MechWarrior 4 Mech pak multiplayer PID numbers

Every time you install the mechwarrior 4 CD's a random pid number is made and is important for multiplayer games but the problem is that the mech paks with the product code you enter to install also make the product id number and is the same every time. To change that so you can play multiplayer with more than one product number you need to get some random numbers made by the other mechwarrior 4 CD's but the random numbers can't be created if you already installed the games.

1. Insert your game CD 1 and read the number.

The mech paks use pid numbers like this:

Mechwarrior 4 Clan
58851-442-XXXXXXX-XXXXX

Mechwarrior 4 Inner Sphere
58837-442-XXXXXXX-XXXXX

2. Install all the mechwarrior 4 CD's and go to the registry and edit the mech paks pid numbers.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\MechWarrior Clan Pak

3. Modify the string value PID and replace the last 12 digits same as the random numbers.

58851-442-8205166-46846

4.Modify the binary value DigitalProductID and delete all of the value data but do not delete the binary value DigitalProductID.

Now you don't need a bunch of different product codes to play multiplayer.

Thanks for the infos. It's probably just easier to use the free Mechwarrior 4 Mercenaries & Mech Packs that were just released.
