Just read this DNF developer interview over at Gamespot, doesn’t say much that isn’t already known - a release by Christmas next year . . . when was the last time I heard that. One thing amusing was the guy from Gearbox said people who buy Borderlands GOTY Edition will get some special password to download the DNF demo before it goes public. So they are effectively using Duke as a tool to sell their old crap.

So now playing demo is a privilege? I'm quite disappointed that with some latest games, demos were only available to the users of steam, meaning they don't even trust you to play a demo version freely.

And how long will it be before that demo becomes cracked and ends up on the net. Not long, I bet.

Considering the demo for Doom on XBLA is only E1M1 I am not surprised the restrictions of extremely short demos is getting absurdly worse.

Apparently now some fan is making a Duke 3D remake using Gears of War\Bioshock tools, and according to the blog I read, Gearbox is all for it. I don’t know exactly how far along this thing is but I guess it is good viral marketing for Duke.
