I've heard of this. It probably affects people with epileptic seizures...like that Japanese cartoon which also caused problems due to flashing lights.

Supposedly it's an urban myth, a video game developed by the CIA for mind control, but perhaps it really did exist, and caused epileptic seizures. Supposedly an arcade machine was found in an abandoned storage unit, but it might just be another story...
