Just stumbled on this yesterday...the service started in May.

The VOID system is based on slots. Slots decide how many games you can play; for example, you need an open slot to choose and play a VOID game. The number and types of slots you have decide how many games you have available at a given time.

Once a slot is occupied by a game you can download and install it by selecting a slot with a game and clicking ’install’.

Whenever you launch a VOID game you will see a few video advertisements. Support the developers by watching them, you’re about 60 seconds from gaming!

After a set amount of days you will have the option to exchange the game in your slot for another one, or you can just keep playing the same game forever. Slots can be upgraded to quicken the cooldown and you can also get more slots!

I think they will use similar techniques to bloat up your computer with malware drivers like Starforce, Securom or Steam. The only difference is you won't get a dialogue like "Insert disk..." or "Enter your ID..." blahblah but dialogs with "Buy this..." "Buy that...". Keep your fingers off of it.

You think? So you haven't tested for yourself and are discouraging others with useless paranoia? How about making such claims AFTER verifying them yourself first?

STEAM is not malware AFAIK... Been using it for about 6 years and I think it's a great gaming platform.

I do have to agree with Delacroix; first you have to test the whole thing, then you can perfectly give your opinion about it... Though I'm not really sure if I want to give it a try

Just wanted to check this out again, only to find this:

The VOID service is no longer available. The technology behind the service has, however proved highly useful in a project currently in development.

Keep your eyes and ears open!
