Hard Truck Apocalypse - Win7 64!

Post by Trey »

If anyone ever figures out how to get this (or the sequel) to run on Win7 64 please let me know. I've tried everything, nothings worked.

Just tested it.

In my case the game seemed to stop at the end of the loading screen. Then I pressed ESC and came into the game menu. It works fine after that.

Tested it with the RELOADED crack and mini-image by maciozo.

Here's what I get when I try to run 'Hard Truck Apocalypse - Rise Of The Clans'. Menus start and function fine. When you try to start a game the load bar gets to 'loading animated objects' then errors out.

unhandled exception!

OK, I've only tried Hard Truck: Apocalypse / Hard Truck: Apocalyptic Wars / Ex Machina. I will try to test the other one.

The other one works fine as well, no error messages.

Tried that already. I read something similar on the Exmachina support forum (i think, can't speak russian) altered it for the english release:
cd "C:\Program Files (x86)\Buka\Hard Truck Apocalypse - Rise of Clans\htaroc"
start /AFFINITY 0x2 "htaroc" htaroc.exe
Didn't help...

There is a scam patch on the net, but I wouldn't recommend it. On a Russian fan forum the only solution is to run XP3 in WMware Workstation.

Ok. Then do what was suggested previously + Open config.cfg and make these changes:
autoPlayVideo="0" // try also autoPlayVideo="false"
r_allowPS20="no"
r_compressedTextures="0"

Nope, same error at the same point.

If I run it under NT 4.0 mode the game will continue to load until 'Level Intialization' then error out:

Re: Hard Truck Apocalypse - Win7 64?  Topic is solved

Alright, so I've gotten both of these games to run on Win 7 64! With lots of help taken from russian "ExMachina" support forum, thanks to the posters there who have figured this out.

First download this .gdp file packer/unpacker from: https://disk.yandex.com/public/?hash=oj ... B9hmDig%3D
(ExMachinaUnGDP.exe must be run as administrator)

Hard Truck Apocalypse
1) install the game normally
2) using the unpacker (ExMachinaUnGDP.exe) unpack the .gdp archives (Pack00/Pack01/Pack02/Pack03) located in the 'data' directory
3) inside the unpacked folder (_Pack00.gpd/ etc.) you'll find a 'data' folder, with game folders inside it/ add these to the games directory with the 'data' as the root/ if prompted to overwrite or merge, hit 'Yes'/ then delete the original .gpd files
4) run using the crack exe from Reloded, 'Run as Administrator' checked

Hard Truck Apocalypse - Rise of Clans
1) install the game normally
2) remove all the files/folders besides the 'Pack' archives from the 'Data' directory, save them for later
3) using the unpacker (ExMachinaUnGDP.exe) unpack the .gdp archives (Pack00/Pack01/Pack02/Pack03/etc) located in the 'data' directory
4) inside the unpacked folder (_Pack00.gpd/ etc.) you'll find a 'data' folder, with game folders inside it/ add these to the games directory with the 'data' as the root/ if prompted to overwrite or merge, hit 'Yes'/ then delete the original .gpd files
5) move the files/folders that you saved back into the 'Pack' directory/ if prompted to overwrite or merge, hit 'Yes'
6) open the file 'datasources.txt', delete everything but the first word listed 'data'
7) run the original exe as administrator

*UPDATE* - Discovered that 'Rise Of The Clans' had some sort of save issue (I think), ran fine first time, was able to create a save before exiting, but when you tired to load the saved game it would freeze. If I uninstalled it and reinstalled it, it would run fine that first time again. How I got the saves to work for me: I created a save game right after starting a new game, then created another one 30 seconds later, then reloaded the first saved game again. So far, since then the game has worked fine for me.

Try this and let me know if it works, thanks.
