We are continuing to support the Games for Windows Live service. As previously announced, as part of the retirement of Microsoft Points the Xbox.com PC marketplace was closed. Although customers are unable to purchase new games from the marketplace or receive title updates, they can continue to enjoy previously purchased content by downloading them through the Games for Windows Live client as usual. We remain committed to investing in PC gaming in the years ahead, and look forward to sharing more in the future.

So GFWL will continue to run, for now at least. You can still play your GFWL games, though you can’t patch them (if it uses the GFWL patcher) or buy DLC.

I was hoping someone can help me with setting up Microsoft Flight. I am very interested to get the Alaskan Wilderness to work with help of the .cab posted here. I've downloaded and installed the game. I've created a folder in the Flight game folder and I've adapted the .config file. I hope that I did it correctly so far. The game starts, but Alaska is not selectable without the non-working market place page popping up. Who can help me?

GFWL dlcs usually work with xliveless emulators (google: catspaw xlive 15d). I'm not sure how MS Flight works.. I'm almost sure that Alaskan Wilderness requires several other packages too:

Shared Resources, Alaska Shared Resources, Cold Climate Wilderness LC, Gridded Urban LC, Temperate Climate Wilderness LC, Universal LC

OK, as for Dawn of War II, I'm kinda walking in the dark: WHAT ARE those retailer exclusive DLCs? The DOW2 base one is EMPTY so I think it's an unlocker but for what? The one for Chaos Rising has over 2 MBs and the retailer_exclusive.bin is actually an .sga file so I dare to assume it may be put somewhere in the game folder to add the content... BUT WHAT IS IT? I can't find any information!

However, in Dawn of War II and Chaos Rising case I suppose it'll be much more feasible to port _everything_ to Retribution platform, to cancel-out any playerbase splitting THQ has done. I wonder if I can do that.

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I'm trying to use the Bioshock 2 and Red River DLC so I can complete the achievements for those games on an Xbox profile. However, when I extract the files from the downloads and put them in the common files folder for the games, I can no longer launch the game. What am I doing wrong?

Everything. First off, you need legit purchases of DLC to make achievements work on an XBox profile. Period. FORGET THAT PART.

Second, if you wish to play DLC for BioShock 2, just activate your GFWL key of BS2 on Steam and install that.

As for Red River, I've posted a version working on Steam and pirate (and even GFWL original) versions, only without achievements. Use that.

Nice list you've got on the OP, I'd like to ask if it (as in you've) succedded in cataloguing all the base games (both free and paid) that were on the service? It'd be of great help having a unified resource of all the titles (I only need those, but nice for getting DDLs as well ) that were there for the reboot of me DRM cataloguing marathon! Which also brings me to question if I have to take attention to DLCs and various other content as well (apart from patches, as mandatory ) due to possible reinclusions of GFWL DRM? in GBadvanceSP

That OP list is largely complete, maybe 99.5%? It was largely done by davispuh and aclair? Most dlcs work with catspaw/aclair gfwl emu (except Gotham Imposters and maybe few else). Bug Bash 1/2 are not available for download as they were internal beta games. AFL Live or Rugby (retail gfwl) are 2 other possible entries not there.
