Trouble Installing "Lets Go Read 1" on Win98 VM

I'm having a hard time trying to install the "Edmark" game "Lets Go Read 1: An Island Adventure" in the Windows 98 Virtual Machine.

Nothing happens after Installation Loading Screen begins
What should I do?

Launch install.exe from inside \edinst\ on the image. For some reason the setup executable in the root of the disc doesn't work--dunno why.

I hate to break this to you but, I tried that and still nothing happens

I'm sorry that it didn't work for you.

I should let you know that I use VMware Workstation 12 Player for my vm needs and it does work in that. And I tested with the image I uploaded and the original disc.

The installed vm image that I used is Windows 98 SE v4.10.2222 A. I got the OS from WinWorld (link provided).

which of the links on there is the closest to the one you used "Windows 98 SE v4.10.2222 A"?

What do you know, the game actually did install on the other version of Windows 98 that you mentioned.

now I just need to have a microphone in place, since "Lets Go Read 1" requires the use of a microphone for the game
