Do the Quake 1 mission packs work with WinQuake?

Post by Trey »

In order to play regular Quake on XP you need to add WinQuake, can you get the Mission Pack Add-Ons to work with it?

Why use WinQuake ? it was never any good even "back in the day".
WinQuake only gives you low res software mode.
If you insist on using an official version use glQuake which is a proper 3D windows exe.

Or there are many third party port versions that will run fine in XP.
My favorite being ZQuake since it is pretty close to the original version. http://zquake.frag.ru/

Most of the other ports have more fancy stuff added.

And yes, you can play the missions packs and any of the mods, with any of the different versions.
