Quake 3 Crapy Sound...

Hi there:

I have this Origin's rip but now im using windows xp + sp2 i dont know why the sound of all the game its too bad (the steps, some guns dont have sound, the ambient, etc) i dont receive any error on unpack process but when im playing the sound its really bad...


Someone have the same problem ???

My specs:

AMD Athlon XP 64 3200+
512 ddr ram
geforce fx 5600 256 mb
c-media audio (mixer)
windows xp pro sp2

This game was never meant to run on xp only 95-98 i think...so...i think the os is the prob...or maybe u need newer SC drivers...give this a try tho.
PS: i got a C-Media 8738DX but i run 98SE and everything sounds nice :)

LOL... I've played that game for hours and hours on WinXP. And I know some other ppl who did, and some still do. So the OS shouldn't be the problem. Though you see, many games use the Q3 Engine and run fine on WinXP...

So, no idea whats wrong?
I was trying to repack sound files from Quake3demo, but itsnot helpining!
SOmebody must know how 2 fix it!HELP PPL[/b]

ok dude, i tell you the rip is really neat..
the sound files a compress as MP3 and the crack installer deflates it back to WAV.. sure to save some space it will be fine but not for the game play fun factor
in about a week i'll finished uploading

OS is nothing to do with sound quality....if the game works with ANY sound, it should be either not working or perfect

I have the original game on xp - i had a similar problem with sound and gamma - latest official patch sorted this out no problem. :)
Don't know if the patch will work on the rip tho.

I have the full game of Q3, never once had any sound issues or issues of any kind....on ANY OS I have used. XP included.

EDIT : I have just realised what i have posted is completely unhelpful in everyway :oops:

Im just so so bored. :?

EDIT AGAIN : Wooooo. 100th post. Yes. It IS a really slow night.
