Ohter games are not that humorous. "Last Rose..." is really a rather depressing short story about a post-nuclear wasteland.
But this guy can create atmosphere with his writing for sure.

Just try to play it as if it were interactive fiction with rodent control attached. Study the world not through graphics but by reading descriptons (almost everything is clickable). It's great!

Well, I heard the basics of Chinese grammar and vocabulary can be picked up as easily as Engilsh but it's the advanced vocab, insane phonetics and writing that's killing al the fun

Somewhat similar to 2nd Space Hulk (the FPS one). Dark corridors, spawning enemies... not very good graphics but level design and soldier abilities are balanced quite well.

You can alter weapon settings in cofig file and in-game use Wolf cheats (M+I+L for 1000 ammo for all weapons).

1. Installed VMware
2. Creted a virtual machine and installed there Windows 98 and VMtools.
3. Installed audio drivers.
4. Set XP desktop to 16-bit colur depth - the one game uses. You can't switch to 16-bit inside VMachine if host OS in in 32-bit mode.
5. Game runs, video ...

Errr... the problem is not that there's no text subs. The problem is that text dialog options under XP are invisible on a number of XP machines. I have the same issue and was unable to find a solution

You've got to have vivid imagination to play IF anyway Sitll the feelies had some hints to solving certain puzzles so a picture is still better that none...
I love big boxes and paper manuals though...
